Presently, Gruhalaxmi is operational in 10 villages of Odapada and Hindol Blocks but has plans to extend its operational jurisdiction. After registration of the Gruhalaxmi Cooperative on 06th March’2020, the membership drive had taken up speed. Women in the villages were keen to be part of the Cooperative as they were witnessing the entrepreneurial initiatives taken up by the project. They were also motivated to see the emerging leadership among women from their own community. The prospect of increasing income among the members who were taking part in livelihood activities motivated other women to enquire about the procedures of joining in the cooperative.

Burt the month of March was hit by lockdown due to imposition of COVID-19 rules and regulations. During this time, it was impossible to organise meetings in the villages, but during this period, the Board of Directors of the Cooperative as part of their responsibility started mobilising members. Even during the lockdown scenario, the team members of the Gruhalaxmi worked relentlessly towards enrolment of members in the Cooperative. The team coordinated over phone and utilised whatever mobility option was available. As a result, by 31st Mar’2020, 399 members were enrolled in the Cooperative. An amount of ₹ 99, 750/- was collected towards share capital and registration fees.
